Write to your MP about the SEND reforms
Answer a few short questions and this page will put together a letter in your words, ready to send to your MP. It takes about ten minutes. You can skip anything you don't want to answer, and change everything at the end.
- About you
- Your concerns
- Your experience
- Your asks
- Your letter
Who are you writing as?
Choose the one that fits best. This shapes the opening of your letter.
Choose one option to continue.
What worries you most?
Pick up to three. Fewer points, explained well, carry more weight than a long list.
Your experience
This is the most powerful part of your letter. MPs remember real stories. A few sentences in your own words is enough, and you can skip any question.
Only share what you're comfortable with. You don't need to use names, and you can leave out anything that could identify your child.
What would you like your MP to do?
A clear request gets a clearer reply. The first two are already ticked; change them if you like.
Your details and your letter
MPs usually only reply to people who live in their constituency, so your letter needs your full address, including your house number and postcode. It goes at the end of your letter, under your name.
Send your letter
Choose the email you normally use. Your letter, subject line and (if we found it) your MP's address will be filled in. Check it, then press send.
Use a different email, or none of these work? Copy your letter and paste it into a new email.
Your letter doesn't include your full address and postcode yet. Without them, your MP may not reply. Add them above, then copy your letter again.
